    Bone broth pre-meal!

PS: I make sandwich thins with an egg, some mozzarella, psyllium husk powder and a bit of baking powder. Make a burger with this, and you also get collagen.

No matter what I do I canโ€™t poop! I have actually been taking Seed synbiotics that Thomas advertises. For two months. It helps a little, but so far not much! Itโ€™s $55 a month! I do all the other things everyone suggests. I even eat a high fiber cereal called Poop Like a Championโ€ฆstill nothing! ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Fibre is waste that wants to leave your body but sometimes struggles. Nutrients found in animals fats and proteins are what our ancestors have always needed, not sugar, fibre and anti-nutrients in plants. You won't need to worry about your gut then as it won't need repairing from the grains, sugars and toxins from plants. No alcohol (fermented plant products) is healthy either.

flight or fight vs rest and digest the two autonomic nervous systems are diametrically opposed. Don't eat while exercising or a big meal right before exercise unless you run marathons. Blood is shunted away from digestive organs to muscles while exercising and vice versa.

be careful with the way you ingest psyllium, depending on how you do it it might induce the opposite effect. Take it mixed with a lot of water, it should be a bit gelatinous but not too dense

Improving gut health by focusing on optimizing the health of the gut lining is crucial for overall well-being and can have a positive impact on various aspects of health, including digestion, immunity, and inflammation. Here are some strategies to improve gut health by supporting and strengthening the gut lining:

    1. **Dietary modifications**:
    – **Eat a diverse range of whole foods**: Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds in your diet to provide essential nutrients and fiber that support gut health.
    – **Limit processed foods**: Processed foods high in sugar, unhealthy fats, and additives can negatively impact gut health. Opt for whole, minimally processed foods instead.
    – **Consume prebiotic-rich foods**: Prebiotics are non-digestible fibers that promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. Foods like garlic, onions, leeks, bananas, and asparagus are good sources of prebiotics.
    – **Include probiotic-rich foods**: Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that support gut health. Fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, and kombucha contain probiotics.

    2. **Manage stress**:
    – Chronic stress can disrupt the gut-brain axis and impact gut health. Practicing stress-reducing techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, deep breathing exercises, yoga, or spending time in nature can help improve gut health.

    3. **Stay hydrated**:
    – Drinking an adequate amount of water is essential for maintaining the mucosal lining of the gut and supporting digestion.

    4. **Get enough sleep**:
    – Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. Sleep is crucial for overall health, including gut health and the repair of the gut lining.

    5. **Reduce use of antibiotics**:
    – Antibiotics can disrupt the balance of gut bacteria and affect gut health. Use antibiotics only when necessary and as prescribed by a healthcare provider.

    6. **Consider gut-supporting supplements**:
    – Consult with a healthcare provider or a dietitian before taking any supplements. Some supplements that may support gut health include probiotics, prebiotics, glutamine, and certain herbs like slippery elm and marshmallow root.

    7. **Identify and manage food sensitivities**:
    – If you suspect you have food sensitivities or allergies, consider working with a healthcare provider to identify and eliminate trigger foods that may be contributing to gut inflammation.

    8. **Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption**:
    – Both smoking and excessive alcohol intake can negatively impact gut health. Limit or avoid these habits to support a healthy gut lining.

By incorporating these strategies into your daily routine, you can help support and improve the health of your gut lining, leading to better overall gut health and well-being. ๐Ÿ™ Thom

Love your channel. I was 288 pounds, gastritis, IBD, and diverticulosis… I have lost 130 pounds and am working on bulking up now. I feel and look like a completely different person and I am still working on healing my digestive system. It is a process, but I can tell that week by week I am recovering. Thank you for your tips and information!

I can only achieve and maintain robust gut health in ketosis; if I dare consume grains, starches, or high fructose fruits my digestion goes haywire. Oddly enough, in ketosis I can tolerate some foods that I would otherwise not be able to like black soybeans, avocados. I imagine itโ€™s fostering a more favorable gut micro biome.
