Death is not natural. Aging doesn't exist. Any effect has a cause. Death is caused by 1) lack of gratitude and lack of love for life 2 ) believing in the illusion of time and aging.
What Dr. Langer calls “noticing” is what yoga calls conscious action — being fully present in what’s happening, before the mind interferes. It’s not about fixing the mind, it’s about seeing through it. She’s proving through science what yogic practice has explored for centuries: perception shapes reality, even biology. The moment awareness enters our actions, transformation begins. 🌿 Same truth, two experiments — one in the lab, one within the self.
I enjoy listening to her and she has great points…but the term "Mother of Mindfulness" …really?
You can't have an opinion 🤷 🙄
Love dr Langer❤❤ always dropping jewels of wisdom
I love this woman!! " Everything is the way it is because somebody is profiting from it" holy shit! AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE BUT AT FIRST IT MIGHT KICK YOUR ASS.
A lesson I learned recently as a new National certified State licensed pharmacy technician in practice for 11 months after I got disgusted at the business that happens behind the Pharmacy counter. At first there was regret after all I'm 58 with a very good looking resume looking for myself worth in all the wrong places in academia one degree after another one license after another one certification after another one roll after another and they want the way this woman frames everything is so liberating. And to you Rick is it? Or sorry rich congratulations on your new to me intro it's more humble and it sounds wiser the 2024 interview you did with her is the last time I visited your channel I think because well recovering addicts and alcoholics and human in recovery in general myself included we think we learn some things and then we think we know it all and your previous interviews are loaded with you interrupting the people that we come here to see you interview or rather to hear your interview but you don't let them talk and now you do I'm proud of you rich you're growing up. There might be hope for me too for maturity emotional maturity that is and maybe even someday some wisdom. But at 58 as a self described rebel without a clue yes I know that's not the name of the movie that's my take on the name of the movie but I digress is so liberating to hear Ellen say no one knows shit I love it! I suspected it all along but I'm not a Harvard anything and haven't devoted decades of researching anything. Another favorite line of hers that I love and having looked at weirdly from my fellow humans when I say. It's better if I give an example my age is 58 years old and according to coworkers which are my main social contact cuz I leave alone with nature I don't dress according to my age in my instinctual answer for decades I've always been according to who? Who made this rules? And now I have this harbor Queen brilliant goddess of the universe of Harvard world same basically the same shit as low self-esteemed moi ….. I've been on to something in my cluelessness. Huh? Anywho thank you for having her back and letting her talk.
With immense and magical gratitude

✨🪄🪂✈️💃🔮🙏☺️
For the emojis to make sense if anybody gives a shit I just took on skydiving and it's pure unadulterated magic and even those words don't describe it but I feel so so immensely filled with grace and gratitude that I get to do it!
PLEASE make chapters for this video so I can find the concepts I'm wanting to revisit after watching the whole video. So many great insights and I can't go back to them without chapters to click on.
I love! This caught me in a time of need.
Bravissimi!
Love this episode, Rich! Thank you both, and wow what a blessing to dialogue with Prof. Langer! 🎉❤
Rich let the woman talk you keep interrupting her. We want to know what she has to say.
This was wonderful! ❤🙏
I find her really hard to follow in conversation. She goes here and there and doesn't seem to answer the question. I have trouble relating her anecdotes to the subject at hand. Maybe just me… 😢 (btw it's not the interviewer! I watched some of her other interviews on YT and had the same experience. I found Rich's interview and thought, oh, surely he can make it make sense! But no.)
However there is certainly certainty not having certainty….? Yeah?? However also I’m pretty certain (my almost daily affirmation) is that “thing’s ALWAYS work out for me! It’s the latter stress and predictions that perhaps manifest and cause stress! Nothing stresses me more than the universe and potentially manifesting my worries, thoughts, fears, anxiety etc…. But I know everything always works out for me! That, I am Certain of!
Loved this
I’ve been diving into Ellen Langer's work, introduced to me by my mentor Dr. Mario Martinez, and it's truly transformative! Her insights on mindfulness have been a game-changer in my own self-healing journey, especially when it comes to understanding the powerful impact our thoughts have on health. Implementing these concepts has helped me reconnect with my body and support my gut and skin health in a whole new way. Highly recommend checking out her books if you're looking for sustainable healing.
Big thanks to Rich Roll for hosting this incredible conversation—I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from such powerful insights. I’d love to hear how others are applying mindfulness to their wellness journey too!
Nature > nurture
