I do not eat any veg can't stand it, I was basically a rice and pasta eater before D2, So:- Basmati rice I can eat, as it is long grain and breaks down slower so doesn't spike the sugar, I eat pasta as I live in a country that hasn't heard of D2 friendly pasta, I've had to learn to eat less (not a bad Idea anyway) Chocolate:- I was a complete addict so dark chock is survivable, also Zero sug drinks are getting better! Forget measuring and weighing Just gradually eat less and chicken works as a good filler, Watch sauces though as there are some with a ton of sugar,
If you can eat veg and rabbit food good for you if you can't you can survive.

I'm pre diabetic, but hoping that my weightloss as well as eating better, being more active might reverse the damage. I'm still overweight, but getting down to a healthy weight. Still sneak small quantities of chocolate though I usually will opt for dark chocolate

Dietary fat does NOT make you fat. Glucose and insulin response does. Diabetics should avoid carbohydrates including all grains, pulses, beans and most fruits except certain berries.
If you want to keep your blood sugar levels controlled, keep your carb intake under 20g per day. Don't eat after 6pm to minimise the dawn effect.

There’s not a single Diabetic on earth that should be eating fruit, oatmeal, grains, bread, or anything with carbohydrates for that matter! Time to wake up, and I’m talking to doctors and diabetics alike! If you want to be 100% type 2 and pre diabetes free, simply start on a healthy ketogenic diet immediately! And for those with type 1 diabetes, the keto way of eating with reduce your need for injections by up to 80%! There are plenty of good, well respected doctors on YouTube to choose from as a research tool! Most doctors ( even diabetes “specialists” ) are not properly trained in nutrition! Be well 🙏🏻

My trick is to check my BG two hours after a meal. I like to try to keep the spike under 180. If the meal works, I'll put on a list of meals my body likes. What do I eat/drink? Mostly water tea coffee, and one 0 calorie energy drink. I"ll eat hotdogs, hamburger (no buns) cheese, questadilla with only 1 low carb tortilla, Lots of salads with vinegar and olive oil, mushrooms, fish, ham, unsalted almonds, unflavored geek yogurt 2% or 5%. I stay away from potatos, breads, processed foods, My a1c is 5.8.

My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxibD_L3sDyYENL5CwePCd9plRBqjzw2mw At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.
