A new destination for health and connection has arrived in Glendale, California.
Greenfields Outdoor Fitness’ new exercise area in Fremont Park pairs modern design with meaningful inclusivity, enticing all community members to further their fitness journeys.
The exciting blue and gray custom combination not only beautifies the park, but also adds to the appeal of the exercises. Fremont Park’s fitness zone was designed to promote socialization and encourage users of all abilities to get moving. The circular layout allows individuals to face one another, encouraging interaction that makes fitness more enjoyable.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a fitness enthusiast, the intentional selection of units makes it easy to get moving together. The outer circle consists of Greenfields Adjustable Resistance units that are intuitive to use and allow individuals to personalize their intensity level. Two of the units also serve people in wheelchairs who do not wish to transfer from their chair, making the space a great destination for those seeking recreational activities that serve various mobility levels in one space.
After seeing the Adjustable Resistance units for the first time, park visitor Priscilla Posadas shared her plans to use the Stepper for physical therapy for her achilles tendon, as well as warm-up for her pickleball matches on the rest of the units.
The crowning jewel in the center of Fremont Park’s fresh-air gym is the Functional Fitness Rig. This fun apparatus mimics the look and feel of a playground, while enabling users to choose from nearly infinite calisthenics workouts to advance their personal fitness goals.
Fremont Park’s new fitness center was long-anticipated.
“I was watching as the installation was happening, and I was like, ‘I have to make sure that I’m here the moment that this place opens, because this is going to be perfect.’ This is a very complete set, and I feel like a lot of parks from around here would benefit from this… I would wholeheartedly recommend this spot.”

The outdoor gym at Fremont Park is a multigenerational space that enables older adults to better their health, thus inspiring the younger generation watching. As President of Glendale’s Parks and Recreation Commission, Henrik Sardarbegian, noted, “I think it’s going to have a long term effect on the entire community.”
