    What confuses me a little about this, in regards to the elderly exercising, is where is the middle line? She states that mild exercises like just sitting from standing aren't enough for the muscles but also warns that overdoing it and getting an injury is a very serious concern in the elderly?

    I ask because my 76 year old Dad who has the rigid, tense muscle version of Parkinsons Disease really wants to start resistance training. I support him in this, not just because of the physical benefits but the the fact that it will give him something to do and add purpose to his life as at the moment he feels stuck and "useless" as he puts it. But I'm also absolutely petrified of him injuring himself and ending up worse off.

    His main issues are getting up out of bed without someone helping him and flexibility issue when it comes to getting clothes on etc. But I also would like him to increase some muscle after hearing this talk. His heart health is really good and cardio wise, like when we go out walking, he sometimes out performs me lol

    Does anyone here have any advice for me in regards to this? It would be very much appreciated. I just want him to get better (I know his diaease will get better but I like to think we could hold it off maybe) and, arguably most importantly, feel better.

    "Do you feel worthy of feeling good?" That right there made me burst into tears. Everything she said about mentality is real and it's the trap that kept me in my autoimmune back pain for years. Dr. Huberman, can you please make an episode about autoimmune disorders?

    🫡 Mindset 1: set standards, not goal. Dont set goals like weight loss goal, but set standard like how you operate and how you execute

    Nói chung để người lớn tuổi (cỡ 50+) cần phải tập kháng lực + ăn đủ protein từ thực phẩm để phát triển skeletal muscle.

    Bữa ăn đầu tiên trong ngày (ko quan trọng là mấy giờ) phải có từ 30-50g ĐẠM (chứ ko phải gam thức ăn) từ thực phẩm. Nhất là đối với người lớn tuổi. Và lưu ý là phải đủ số lượng trên, nếu ko thì vẫn sẽ ko có thêm lợi ích gì giúp cho cơ xương cả.

    Nice to meet you. As an obese person who is just starting to do all I need to loose weight and not lose muscle, can you please make a correction in one of your comments? You said (and many people keeps saying) that we should get 1gr of protein per kg of body weight.
    But, correct em if I'm wrong… it should be 1 gram per kg of MUSCLE mass that you should do it. ie: I'm 135 kg, and I dont think that 279 grams of protein per day for me would be healthy… So can we change the way we communicate that "rule"?
