    Having a lot of money or at least a stable job probably makes it much easier to be resilient. Most of these studies on “grit” or “mental toughness” basically boil down to that, but wealthy people rarely admit it. They prefer to believe they’re simply better people by nature.

    2020 i at last admitted I needed to talk with a counsellor. I was a 47 year old airline pilot. Never thought I'd need to do it.
    It began the most revolutionary changes in my life.
    I've left aviation & i'm now half way through 3 years training to be a psychotherapeutic counsellor,.
    Resilience isn't just ploughing on with 💩 bouncing off you, it's learning the things that will nurture you through those times.

    The best way to survive the traumas of life now is to develop the sociopathic or narcissistic personality disorders. Sociopaths don't care about anything and nothing bothers them, whereas narcissists have an unshakeable conviction in their own abilities (even if they have no special talents that would make them superior). Members of both groups are thriving now. Nobody 'suffers' from those disorders; instead they make everyone around them suffer. It seems as though the way to not get hurt, is to hurt other people. I really wish it wasn't so.

    When you tell people "only money, status and power matter" aka liberal capitalism, people begins treating their fellow human beings execrably.
