It’s amazing how just a few small changes can transform your study routine into something manageable and less overwhelming. I love the idea of using active recall; it really makes studying feel more engaging and effective!
god bless ya
I just started med school this year and it isn't going well…
Fantastic video, Ali! Your tips on prioritizing active learning, using spaced repetition, and breaking down complex content are incredibly helpful for first-year medical students. I love how you emphasize the importance of understanding the big picture before diving into the details. The Feynman Technique is a great way to reinforce learning by teaching what we've learned. Best wishes from Easy Human Anatomy! Our channel simplifies complex anatomy topics to help students understand better. If you're looking to deepen your anatomy knowledge, feel free to explore our videos – we’re here to support your learning journey!
Brilliant, @AliAbdaal. I loved your ideas and regret not knowing them when I was in med school several years ago. Well done!
ALHAMDULILLAH
Thanks!!!
I've been watching your videos ever since i was a middle school student, as of today I'm two weeks away from my first day of medical school!
So glad i spent so many hours watching every single one of your videos bc know i feel a tiny bit prepared for what's to come
I wish Ali was still a doctor and gives advice to students more than entrepreneurs and content creators 🙁

Hey…please do u have any videos on public speaking. You really inspire me on that aspect. I love how you speak
How old were you when you started med school?
Seeing my friends, I felt like the odd one not reading the physical books but this types of videos do help
Where can I find the general rules in anatomy Ali talks about in Instant Anatomy.Ive looked at their website and can't seem to find anything like that.
Useful advices for this first year of medical school. Still learning how to apply active recall and spaced repetition to my studies but working on it. Massively grateful Ali 🙂

For pharm I recommend downloading a list of the major CYP450 enzymes and drugs that are metabolised by them, inhibit or induce them. Helps to cope with the whole polypharmacy thing
I am in premed in Brooklyn kingsborough.I dont understand how students can not go lectures ,or if they go to lectures they dont pay attention .Instead of lectures they go to google wikipedia worse course hero, chegg all those cheat sites .This seems like organised cheating all the med students mention on their you tube sites.I study the traditional way besides the required lectures powerpoints asynchronis sycnchronis and in person blackboard.Reports on word.I have a good GPA over 3.025 just memorising not taking notes .I was in college Electronic Engineering before my present premed in the early 90s before computer learning was popular. Here the students are worthless it depends on the university culture if the students are serious about learning or cheating.
Future me: don’t forget to come back to this comment when you’re in first year
Ali talks 1.5x speed
This is the most helpful video I've seen I appreciate it
1. Explain to yourself each topic like you are 5 yo
2. Anki Flashcards for Space Repetition in Pharmacology
3. Active Recall 20 min everyday
4. Use Wikipedia or Yt videos to understand topics
5. Instant Anatomy for diagrams
6. Don't care too much about result, down the line everyone will be doctors
Bro kindly suggest good pharmacology book/resources fpr clinical practice and for basic understanding
yes, you don't need textbooks when your teacher's PowerPoints are arranged in a proper way, and not in the way of thrown info all over the places with the lack of a logic thread
and yes, you can resume to google when you teacher doesn't ask you questions about the tiny detalis from the book he wrote for his MD-PhD which he loves so much
