An IMPORTANT update on emergency medical treatment! I've had a few people point out the "No Surprises Act" which was passed this year: https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/fact-sheets/no-surprises-understand-your-rights-against-surprise-medical-bills
Now, if you have health insurance, this act will "Ban surprise bills for most emergency services, even if you get them out-of-network and without approval beforehand (prior authorization)." This is super good news, and it means that you shouldn't be afraid of calling 911 in a medical emergencyβyou'll still have to pay for it (like an in-network procedure), but it won't be completely out of pocket if you go to an out-of-network hospital. The act will also "Require that health care providers and facilities give you an easy-to-understand notice explaining the applicable billing protections…" and though I'm less convinced about the "easy-to-understand" aspect, at the very least it means you SHOULD be notified about this when you receive the bill!
oh
Actually here in Ireland we have public&private
The obvious mistake here is trying for a breakfast sandwich in LA when obviously he should be looking for a breakfast taco
It was very instructive
This has been very helpful β€thank you
πππ jargon dammit! Um this also extends to automobile predatory "insurance" like oh State Farm….wtf are they? Scammers.
you need more testosterone my soy filled friend
Probably I will sound cliche, but as an European I literally had to stop at the 10 minute mark out of second hand anguish… π’
This is actually amazing, they should play this in schools
BDGoat this was super very helpful actually to iron out terms ππ
Avoiding unison responses from now on!!! I always saw unison response as a sign of engagement (something emphasized in my school and principal) but never again!
Its okay that (22:20) you forgot to mention medicare and medicaid. ITS ALL GONE NOW SO…..DONT WORRY ABOUT IT. [Head in Hands Head in Hands Head in Hands]
This made me realize that the South Park depiction of the american healthcare system in the Ozempic specials is 100% accurate and I'm sorry for all Americans
Deny, Defend, Depose πππ
I am far too young to need to care about healthcare. I have watched this more than a couple dozen times.
Moving to Canada or Europe to get good health care there sounds more easy than this overcomplicated system. I feel sorry for you that you don't don't know how it feels to see a doctor and don't be scared what you pay for any procedure or meds
Luigi sends his regards
Cheers
This guy is the funniest and most informative person I've ever seen on youtube
this is ironically one of my favorite videos. ive watched this several times over the past two years just because. i dont need to get my own health insurance yet, and i do nothing with the information provided. i just like this video
I just got my gallbladder removed. I was a little confused looking though my health insurance information trying to figure out what I will be paying. Coming back to this video was a HUGE help in understanding everything. Thank you so much!
Want to like a video, without stupid jokes and unnecessary bit, this video should be 15 minutes longβ¦β¦
I am not confused. / sobs quietly,
What a lifesaver, I wish I watched this video before all the other confusing ones.
Thanks very much, glad you liked it
