I am 5'7 and got to 220 while bulking. It cased stretch marks, albeit very few, on my stomach, but jesus did I feel great at a chubby 220. It only took about 3 months of intermittent fasting to shed it and get down to 165. I lost a ton of muscle. As a natty, it was frustrating watching all my friends, who are on juice, eat McDonalds and gain tons of fat free muscle.

i got stretch marks on my biceps (only) for musculating too fast the first year (only with whey), and there they are, a decade later (not visible normally since it's in the interior, so but i see them)
Nutrition mistakes … eating 10 tons of sugar when I was younger, going on a fudge diet (sort of thing) etc. That didn't work out well. Hopefully got that sweet tooth under control now. Still probably making too many mistakes. Oh and bad sleep, thinking I can burn the candle from both ends for way too long.

I used to be 5'8 and 130 pounds and lean living on a farm. got sick and went under 100 pounds. I was given a nutritionist who told me not to go to the gym or do anything strenuous until i gained some weight and put me on a 6 month 3000 calorie a day diet. I went up to 165 pounds. now im 140 but lean and ya… I doubt i'll ever see abs or not have the handles ever again. it's rough

Fat cells do not multiply. The cells get larger as you have access fat but the adipocytes do not increase in quantity.

Well, crap. After watching this I have no hope on not being fat any more. Until my son was born when I was 31, I lived at the gym as a diesel-powered locomotive muscle monster. 225lbs with a β300 PFTβ score. I left the Corps and became a civvie with 3 jobs to pay for my growing family, which pretty much ended my gym time. I recently started lifting again because I am 280lbs with a 48β waist (yeah, I know what I look like naked and it is not good). I am 47 now so I have carried this wait for most of the last 16 years. Since the fat cells will never go away, there probably is not any reason to begin lifting again. I should just enjoy the rest of my short fat life and accept the reality I have made for myself.
