11:00 "LJD: Low Junk Diet"
My grandad shot heroin and ate x2 big mac meals a day and lived to be 28
Ditch the rice because it doesnt have a good bran layer and replace it with wholegrain wheat
Dear sir, the problem with all the educated experts is the fact they do not understand. You do not take a gorilla from the forest and start feeding him oats, milk, eggs & saugages. Thats the problem, people are eating goods they are not accustom to eg. If you ae italian eat that because thats the food you were raised on, europeans should stay with their own foods, just what they had in the old days. Growing up i ate the same thing every day, never changing. Then when i came to nort america my first food was pizza, well i was sick as a dog.
Well i realize very quickly this was not my food, the mozzarella i had never eaten, yogurt and many of the foods & fruits did not belong to me. We have to stay like the gorilla, dont tri to eat food of the world it does not belong to everyone. In my 80ties no health issues and intend to stay healthy
I eat Low Fat and Non Fat Yogurt Plain, nothing but low fat (or nonfat) milk and cultures no added sugar or pectin or anything. I fail to see how this yogurt could be inferior to a higher fat yogurt?
Cut SUGAR, FLOUR, and SALT, for one..
Also greatly reduce dairy, cooking oils, starches, and bagged and boxed goodies and snacks.
Paleo has worked the best for me. Lost 14lbs in less than 3 months without exercising. Still going strong. * Seems to have cured my high blood pressure too!
I would enjoy listening to someone who may be able to answer for sugar(carb) addiction. The 'food guide',and the explosion of obesity and chronic disease.
I have been in,and out of a low carb diet 7 times. In every cycle I gained weight rapidly by following recommendations. In every cycle I lost weight, and felt much better when limiting carb intake…especially breads, pasta, rice etc….My last(and final)experience I gained a lot of weight, and wore a size 42 pant size.Switching to low carb, with intermittent fasting I now wear size 32 pants, having lost close to 100lbs in less than a year.Low energy, joint pain, and sugar cravings have all but disappeared.
I have come to find that my experience has been shared by so many that calling a low carb lifestyle questionable is ridiculous.
I believe that sugar is just as addictive as any drug, and therein lies the problem.
i can do a super low carb diet for long periods. I want to replace beef and pork with fish, but cannot find decent fish anymore and if i do the price is abusive.
LLQC 🎉😂
"lively debate on the internet" 😂😂😂🎉
People rail against "dietary guidelines" but the fact is, people simply never followed them. As a society, we have eaten junk for decades and we are reaping the consequences.
You miss the point of influencers. They create sexy compelling stories around food, and the ones that catch the attention of everyday people is that the government has been misleading people on what to eat, because they want people to be sick, because they are in cahoots with big medicine and big pharma, who needs sick people to make money, not healthy people. Now that’s a story people listen to, not that everything’s been fine and people are idiots that got tricked by food marketing to eat a bunch of garbage
What defines good quality and bad quality carbs?
Eat what derives from plant not made in a plant
This has been MOST helpful! My experience has been modifying my diet 1 element for a month, see how it changes, then keep/revert it and move on to another item. I've found that some food changes that work for me don't work for my wife and vice versa, while sometimes the same change affects us equally. I.e. our needs are a little different but mostly the same, and the lesson we learned was that follow a diet that works best for us. And neither of us have ever followed any popular, generalized diets, but the closest would be the Mediterranean diet.
So, What's the BEST diet for humans?
I am a perimenopausal woman, and I tried low carb recently after being diagnosed with prediabetes. I just hate it. How is all the meat, eggs, and dairy good for me with elevated LDL, which is at the highest in my life at 214? Does Dr. Gardner have a book or cookbook out or recommendations for guidance?
My take from this video. Cut Refined Carbs and sugar out of your diet. Eat whole foods. Don't cut veg & fruit. Don't eat too much. Easy, got it!
How can I get 90 g of protein everyday?
Whole grain ,beans soaked and cooked home, vegetables nightshades not included ,fruit, extract virgin olive oil, fish, spices .herbs, it's ok with red meat grass feed and chicken no farm rised once a month..no processed food no hydrate oil no canned food no sugar no white bread use sourdough bread instead, clean water ,clean environment……
Think about it what % of Americans are eating [ whole grains ,fruit / veg] like 25% and it shows everyone is fat obese overweight , heart attacks from too much junk foods refine carbs [ white bread] , pork ,animal meats etc not [ whole grains , fruit/ veg] .
The body's much preferred source of fuel is carbs , not protein or fat , this a scientific fact just google it .
We are made from the ground we are basically meant to live of the land , not animals . The body's much preferred source of fuel is complex carbs not protein or fat a scientific fact google it . Diet should be [whole grain's , fruit/ veg] and will never change till God comes down .
I like this guy.
Fat
So basically more whole foods and more plants? So then why not advocate for a diet which is just those foods?
I wish I could always be as cheerful as this wonderful grandfather!
The best diet for humans is probably the one that is best for the planet. No planet = no humans. If the planet catches a cold, humanity catches the Black Plague. 😁
I disagree I bet if we test my genotype I will in fact be the Dunkin Donuts person 🤭
I eat veggies, fruits, grains(not refined) and a small amount of meat(not processed) for the B12 and I thrive on that diet! My cholesterol and blood sugar is normal.
This is the best and most believable talk on food choices that I have ever heard. Very practical and balanced.
What's the purpose of plain yogurt?
